Amateur Radio is a very exciting Hobby that also involves electronics and mechanical construction as well as just plain old chatting to other Amateur Radio operators around the world.
Amateur Radio also is known by its nick name Ham radio.
It is a great hobby to get into you meet lots of nice like minded people around the world!.
Amateur Radio operators get to us lots of Radio Bands for instance here in Australia there are three classes of Amateur Licence.
- Advanced
- Standard
- Foundation
- Advanced This is the highest level in Australia and the higest Technical level.
This level have Bands from
- 160mtrs
- 80mtrs - 3.525mhz to 3.8mhz
- 40mtrs - 7.000mhz to 7.300mhz
- 20mtrs - 14.000mhz to 14.300mhz
- Plus a lot more to be completed
- Standard This is Second level and does not need as much technical skill as Advanced but more than foundation.
This level have Bands from
- 80mtrs - 3.525mhz to 3.700mhz
- 40mtrs - 7.000mhz to 7.300mhz
- 20mtrs - 14.000mhz to 14.300mhz
- 15mtrs - 21.000mhz to 21.300mhz
- 10mtrs - 28.000mhz to 29.600mhz
- There are a lot more this needs to be finished
